Look at the shit that was HOMM5 and beyond. Every design is some World of Warcraft abomination with creatures having dozens of bling and wielding pink dildo swords. It would make more sense to hire those units only to kill them, and using the gems in their armor to pay for Dragons and Titans.
HOMM Old Era is having the same problem as well.
