This is why the best FF game is 11. Actual tactics, if you don't mind it being multiplayer rather than controlling a single party member.
A remake to "de-mmo" it by giving you NPCs that level alongside you trusts are a thing but they're incredibly imbalanced and making it entirely offline with no concerns for latency would be great because it would remove the one downside the game has (needing to play with other people).
