Shadow and Maria's dynamic is loved because it works to well, though. And besides, if IDW Shadow met Surge, it'd be a trainwreck because nobody on the staff team understands who Shadow's supposed to be. They'd probably get mad that Shadow wouldn't be her personal therapist.
