OoT is different because there is at least some grounds for that claim, it's fueled by nostalgia sure but if you were a kid/teen at the time playing video games OoT was mindblowing, it was the "everything game": it had horse riding, archery, sword combat, mini games, waifus, dungeons, rewarding sidequests, fishing, music playing, secrets, etc..All of it with a top notch immersive presentation unlike something like Daggerfall. I was a grand adventure and there was nothing like that at the time. OoT deserves to be a contender for the time for doing all that at the time.
