There's something of a suggestion that if Mawkin DNA can exert control over the Metroids, then it might have been able to combat the X-parasite that took over his remains.
X-parasites do everything in their power to maximise their survival, and have demonstrated attacking their only predators, the Metroids.
The recently "revived" Quiet Robe is seen reactivating the E.M.M.I. robots, and it's questionable if this is the X-parasite aiming to eliminate the hunter, or Quiet Robe taking a gambit with Samus recovering abilities by defeating them.
Quiet Robe X getting willingly absorbed by Samus at the end is also at odds between the parasite and the chozo.
The X-parasite may've known that Samus would lose her Metroid Suit and therefore become less of a threat, therefore increasing their survival odds, but the more logical action would've been to sneak aboard the ship and remain undetected until Samus returns to another planet.
The most likely influence is that Quiet Robe wanted to impart more Mawkin genes to help keep her Metroid genetics under control.
If you consider that possibility though, it would mean that Samus has been absorbing the genes of countless fauna from X-hosts.
Also whilst grabbing this image of the SA-X attacking the Metroids in the BSL restricted lab, it occurred to me that this thing ain't using the ice beam on them. Was it too focused on just destroying the facility from the inside?
