>that one guard guy Bondrewd talks to has clear moral quandaries about what's happening in Idofront and Bondrewd's like "don't worry, I'm not making use of them as humans"
>implications that Bondrewd would legit get in trouble for this shit if he did it on the surface
>orphanage just accepts any urchin with a sob story who rolls up sobbing about his dead oneesan in the wharf quarter
>Marulk goes and gets the Subterranean Bandits when Ozen is whooping up on Reg and Riko (clearly feels safe going to get other adults to help, implication that they really would save Reg and Riko if they were in actual danger)
>apparently all the townsfolk are just cool with the orphans from Belchero and they do errands and stuff around Orth
>still referring to 12-year-olds as children in the first place, modern thinking reflecting longer childrearing and more care given for longer
>Habolg wanting to help Reg and Riko in the first place and giving them the buns and the medicine and stuff as a gift

>shibari rope bondage of children is legal
>we send these kids off to cave dive for fucking Indiana Jones artifacts and they are routinely attacked by literal monsters
I kinda just wonder how the world of MIA views children. They're obviously not "protected" the way they are here if they've got them cave-raiding to begin with, but it's really not like they don't give a shit.
I wonder about Belchero herself sometimes, too. How big of a bitch can this lady really be? She has the whole Cruella Deville vibe and she's strict, but like, dude, she runs an orphanage. I feel like she might actually be an okay person. But then again, the relics turn a profit. But then again, the money keeps the orphanage going. But then again, wasn't she a delver herself? Maybe it's not even about the money for her.
Jiruo for-sure is just a good person who has a soft spot for kids. You can see it with how he talks to the orphans in his care.
I feel like they might care more than we give them credit for.
