Inafune's preference for Legends 2 made me wonder if there was an even darker ending planned for X5. There is that unused "Armageddon" track, complete with the Earth and almost everything on it being annihilated. What pockets remain decide to conspire to repopulate and revitalize the planet while leaving a system in place that would prevent such a disaster from ever occuring again.

But then Inti Creates basically injects themselves into the story with Inafune's consent.
