I NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE
So this steering shaft is out of a '55 Thunderbird which is a telescoping column. This sleeve is splined(shaft is too, obviously) and peened to the shaft proper. I am going to be putting this column in my '53 Ford wagon, but it necessitates shortening the entire column and shaft about 5 inches or so. Shortening the tube is no biggie, but I need to extend the splines up the shortened shaft. Who would be able to do that? Standard machine shop or am I looking at sending it out to an driveline specific shop for this?
