They look at both, and Squeenix stock is doing well over the year of DT release. Even though it leans into a lot of factors other than XIV, because of that upward trend, if someone near the top says 'We did bad, we will go another direction' shareholders think that direction is down.
The real problem is that shareholders naturally treat companies as another man's cow. They don't care about the health of the cow, they just want the milk.
