I said before that Israel has a critical issue with no plan for the day after. It's actually shockingly pathological for them. As in you could ask them how they'd feel if they didn't have breakfast yesterday and they'd honestly go "But I did have breakfast". Their only plan is
"We'll just slaughter the enemy then the people will rise up and love us and everything will be fine". And in response to "Well what about the instability and violence afterwards we get told that Chernobyl line of "Why worry?"

>“If you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region,” Netanyahu claimed. “And I think that people sitting right next door in Iran, young people, and many others, will say the time of such regimes, of such despots is gone.”
To date of regime-changed countries the only one that might be a bit better than what came before (rather than same as it ever was or worse) is the one ran by a fucking former al-qaeda member. Jury is out in the long-term status but it's a lot better than Libya or Iraq were shortly after their liberations. Of course what did Israel want to do before Trump beat them to it? Keep Syria weak and decentralized, allow Russia to keep the base there and use the Druze as a pretext to fuck around and keep it unstable.
