>Previous week or two I almost had to shoot a neighbors dog, it was off leash and full sprinted towards my gf and her dog, drew my pistol and held it in it's face until it's owner picked it up a couple minutes later
>Me and her scared of dogs ever since, nightmares etc. Gf had a nightmare about a dog even before the incident
>Was walking back from my car after work in the middle of the day while she was out teaching college kids, heard something weird
>Some combination of a hand saw and a dog growling far off into the woods, sounds far away and close at the same time, very loud
>Stand there for a minute figuring out the situation because her shitty door lock would leave me vulnerable while I figure out how to open it
>Sudden loud band right next to me on the opposite side of where I thought the sound was
>Wait another minute before getting the courage to finally open the door, get inside and lock it
>4 sudden knocks across the outside of the house going down the external kitchen wall
>Our dog freaks out and whimpers like something bit it, runs around looking for a cause
>Minutes pass and dog wants out to piss, reluctant but ok
>Deliberate on leaving the door locked or not, decide unlocked is the best way to get back in if it gets weird outside, make sure door is closed
>Absolutely normal walk, come back to house, door wide open, which it can't be because I was deciding on locking it or not and knew it was closed
