Season 2 had Rick sacrifice himself after getting himself and the kids trapped in an endless string of alt timelines, it had Rick butting heads with his intellectual equal inside his car battery, and it had Rick improvise after getting shot on Purge Planet until his backup plan went into place, a backup plan that only happened thanks to Summer's help and because he didn't have cybernetic enhancements at the time.

Season 2 was an AMAZING continuation of what the first season set up.
