What is more likely? That a creator came from nothing, or a compressed singularity of energy came from nothing? There has to be an uncaused cause at some point, and a "creator" is far far far more complex than a bunch of randomly distributed particles. The kolmogorov prior indicates that even before considering any evidence, we should consider it almost infinitely more likely that the latter should come into existence than the former, since if you sampled from the set of all mathematical objects you'd pull out an uncountably high number of materialist universes before you pulled out a single creator. And the odds are actually worse for god than that, because we DO have evidence of what kind of universe we live in, and it doesn't look like the product of a creator at all! It's filled with unjust suffering!

People consider god to be a simple explanation for things because they don't understand just how complex minds really are. It's exactly the same error that causes people to believe in ghosts or other forms of magical thinking. They think that agents who interpret information and alter their surroundings to accomplish a goal are some kind of fundamental object rather than an extremely low-entropy and complex emergent process that only arises in nature out of massive optimization processes like evolution or gradient descent.
