It's not, changing spark plugs or even doing something like an oil pickup tube is incredibly easy compared to one with a "full" hood since you have access through the doghouse. They aren't that bad.
They did build high top Suburban conversions already however, many complete with TVs and VCRs and whatnot, so this huge amount of fabrication is rather pointless IMO.
