While I fully understand why Samurai would be made into a subclass, it never fails to be a stupid idea to me least of all the old 3/3.5 samurai that was this goofy chop socky paladin thing complete with it's own blackguard in the form of the ronin.

Then again this is also why the monk always has the most shit flavor because wotc can't into asian anything even with plenty of examples to go off of.
