Random anecdote: the Sword Art Online novels had Klein (the guy who always plays samurai-themed characters) sperg out and go on a Weaboo Fightan Magic rant when he learned that ALO's next patch was adding a Sword Skills system to better balance martials against casters. Not because of the Sword Skills themselves (they come with the SAO engine so many games include them in some form), but because ALO's implementation has many of them deal elemental damage. Both of these characters can easily be used as portraits for Asian Battle Masters, Champions, or Psi Warriors. The latter even looks more like a Kensei Monk.
