Alright, I cracked the code. Basically, there are 2 Lillies:

1) South African Lilly: comes from the pre-alpha version of the VN, won't ghost you, full stop. Only Akira intends to go back to South Africa. If Lilly chose to follow Akira, she would certainly give you a proper notice and probably ask you to join her

2) Scottish Lilly: comes from the final version of the VN, will ghost you just because her parents ordered her to do so, and will then pretend it's all your fault even if you manage to stop her

The case is settled.
There's a protagonist Lilly and a villain Lilly, that's why everyone has conflicting views of her.
We were just discussing two distinct timelines as if they were one and the same
