Possibly yes. The other thing, though, is that getting put on the registry is as simple as getting busted taking a leak behind a dumpster. I look at the map around my house and there's almost 100 of them within a 1 mile radius.
But yeah tens of thousands of kids just vanish across the usa every year. Michigan's outside the top ten, but not by a lot.
