The original Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde video is the single most underrated AVGN video, and a proper pleb filter. This is what all the copycats never understood about the concept, which is that the idea of a man approaching his 30s, in his room late at night stewing away in bitter regret over a horrible video game from his childhood, is inherently funny in a relatable, yet tragic and absurd way. The atmosphere is just palpable, it's just *chef's kiss*. I often find myself ruminating over what a horrible game DK64 was, and what a waste of childhood it was to play it, and it genuinely bothers me when I see people defend it. I haven't even played it since I was a kid. Why do I still seethe over shit like this? What is my life even? Seriously, fuck that game.
