>$300 is a lot, but feels about right IF it has all the unlocks.
Let's pretend the set is priced fairly, even though it's not. My problem is that it still looks bad aesthetically. Rather than putting all kinds of gadgets and doodads and fancy reliefs on the inside, they could have spent half as much time and money making the outside look cool and unique. Compare this new version to an amateur mockup of the original concept art. The new playset is flat, narrow, boxy, and boring. Gone are all the fun little nooks and crevasses, replaced with straight stone walls like every other castle playset. The biggest tragedy for me was the loss of the grand stairway. That feature was very unique, and I would have loved posing figures climbing, falling, and dangling from those steps.
At the end of the day, all I really wanted was a fun playset that looked like a ruined jungle temple. Well, it’s been ruined alright, just not the way I was hoping.
