John K. does appreciate a lot of Hanna-Barbera though. Of course he'd agree with OP about a lot of it being low effort, but he praises HB stuff and is a huge Flintstones fan. He even worked on the 80s Jetsons revival. Not to mention Boo Boo Runs Wild and shorts like that.

Neither of those things cost a lot of money, and together they make instant living characters. Not when they had to churn out so much product every week.
