nintendo's strategy was the correct strategy: lower powered hardware and emphasis on fun games that don't take 100M$+8 years to make allows risks to be taken and small studios to flourish
what's fucked up is this was exactly what the PSX's strategy was (perhaps because it was originally developed in collaboration with nintendo)
