>Most info on Seidr seems to be heavily syncretic modern guess work from what I can tell
In my country it's the opposite, the theological stuff is almost all lost but there's still a continual tradition of village witch magic that's lasted to this day (syncretised with Christianity). I have no connection to it though. My entry was through astrology and Hermetic and occult revival stuff.
>Planetary energies could almost be thought of as Logoi which specific objects participate in.
Yes, there is also a tradition of interpreting the sphere of the fixed stars as the place of the symbolic visual representations of the platonic forms themselves. Although things get a bit messy if you dig into the details of it. There are multiple layers of symbolism for the same things in the physical cosmos so I have left a smooth formulation of my views for later. For example, in traditional cosmology you often see the 10th sphere depicted as God, but Sol has a very strong claim too.
>I don't blame you, me neither to a large extent. I have as I've said mainly been interested in the metaphysical side and been somewhat neglecting the practice side.
Fair enough. Personally, it took me a very long time to form my personal definitions and understanding of these terms and my understanding is most solid only on the couple of things I have settled on pursuing.
On energy work, I have had some limited results. Cultivation itself has proven challenging. Just recently I was researching the anatomy of the "astral body" more, so that I could approach the issue more precisely; for the foreseeable future my focus will be to clear some energy arteries, basically, and condition my body and read more on the side for future work. Keeping it simple. I may also do chakra meditation but although I think I get results for those, it's hard to evaluate them. So I prefer more qi gong oriented stuff. Pranayama seems simplest so I hope it will carry me where I want to go.
