I ping caves if I go to them, but I don't expect anyone to come with me -- especially when i'm playing with \erg\. Luckily we don't have many ping spammers. I think the only time i've seen someone spam pings is in the city so others would know where to go / what path to take which is totally reasonable considering that place can be a maze the first few times you go through it.
