There's cartoons with "comedy" in them, but no actual comedy cartoons with a focus on falling anvils/pianos/safes, wild takes, actual funny jokes and slap stick violence as seen in Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes and Popeye.
It's like for every 10 billion Invisibles we only get 1 Looney Tunes Cartoons out of it, and it isn't even that good.
Yes, Looney Tunes Cartoons puts everything Studio Mir shat out of it's ass to shame, but it isn't good enough.
Entire genre feels lean/bone dry depending on what you consider, like Looney Tunes Cartoons is definitively an comedy cartoon but idk is Animaniacs'2020 or Tiny Toons Looniversity an comedy cartoon? Short answer, no, they're insults to their originals.
And it cant just be that there's no market for comedy cartoons cuz like Super Mario exists which is just as fun as the cartoons of the second half of the 80s and 90s and people fucking love Super Mario, what gives? Cartoonists not being allowed to make actual cartoons that follow the Preston Blair book to the T anymore and instead have have script writers shit diarrhea out of their asses and show that for 22+ minutes?
No wonder why live action YouTubers took over.
