That's the main issue I think, he did this shit before with Toriel and then with the Undyne and Alphys pairing. Awful people who are just as guilty or more so than guys like Asgore, zero commupance and treated as a saint.
Two people who have no reason being together, are just together and they're inexplicably perfect together despite being awkward weirdoes with no common ground.

It's not the fact that they aren't good people or the relationship couldn't work. It's the lack of following through these characters and their reactions to their logical conclusion and we saw him do this in Undertale already.
