As someone who saw the movie in the cinema in '92, my impression was that it was too dark, too depressing, and too pointless after Alien/Aliens. I dig it though. The movie is gorgeous, has a fantastic cast, and tthere are plenty of tense creepy moments.

Yeah, not really a fan of the Assembly Cut, theatrical is better imo
