I liked Hades but think I unironically enjoyed it more because I played it in Early Access, where chunks of story content were added in slowly over time, rather than trying to experience it all at once and getting burnt out on the same bosses over and over.

It's Supergiant's best actual gameplay, but sadly I think it's their weakest in terms of plot. I think the way that characters are reactive to your loadout choices or how well you're doing on a run is a fun detail, but I wish we could have seen that effort in branching dialogue for a different style of game. (They kind of did that already with Pyre, but only I and about seven other people actually played that one).
