If you're saying that audiophile headphones have bad issues with directionality and that the gamer headphones that usually use some form of software/digital 7.1 surround emulation is what you want to hear on any audiophile headphone then I'd just tell you to use HeuSVI. As long as your dac amp actually supports doing 7.1 signal. It's completely free.

So there's no reason to get any gamer headphone with that in mind. There's nothing you can't do as long as your dac supports the option. For me if a game doesn't support REAL 3D audio and it's just basic stereo panning, but it does support surround sound 7.1 for actual speaker setups for example then i just turn on this program and switch my dac to 7.1 opposed to stereo. So it does 7.1 headphone emulation.
