Gold and Silver are leagues more fleshed out than the original games, and they include the entire kanto region even if it is squeezed down a bit to fit on the cartridge. Barren my fucking ass. No other pokemon game has allowed you to revisit a previous region in the same game like that. It added abilities, day and night cycles, masterfully done soundtrack, much better spritework, better movesets, fixing retarded moves like gust being a normal type in gen 1 and all sorts of other crap. To this day Crystal is one of the most polished Pokemon games ever made. It's insane how good Gen 2 is. Anyone poopooing on it got their opinion from a youtuber and never played the game immediately following gen 1 so they didn't experience it at its peak. Then you got the remakes and those are somehow even fucking better. GOAT pokemon games, anyone who says they're bad because of "muh level curve", "muh pokemon distribution" is a contrarian faggot whose balls hasn't even dropped yet. Turn off youtube and go play the games.
