Pokemon was great from Gens 1-4. Gen 5 was good. Gen 6 was Meh. Gen 7 was okay. Gen 8 complete dogshit. Heard Gen 9 was an improvement, especially with the Switch 2 update, so Im gonna give that one an honest shake.

I don't know man. I always thought gen 9's biggest problem was its performance and glitches. And with that ironed out on Switch 2, it's the first pokemon game in a long time to run at 60fps, which is appealing to me. I could not play Sword and Shield in its current state. In fact I know a lot about Sword and Shield and I could tell you everything I don't like about it. Scarlet and Violet I've just heard better things about, but it's true I don't know as much about it. That's why I'm gonna play it and form my own opinion on it. I'll probably play gen 8 some day, but it desperately needs a performance patch as well.

To this day Crystal is one of the most polished Pokemon games ever made. It's insane how good Gen 2 is. Anyone poopooing on it got their opinion from a youtuber and never played the game immediately following gen 1 so they didn't experience it at its peak.
