I can do trances at about 40% capacity (because I get distracted) so I'm still learning, but I haven't drunk/vaped in years.

If you are unable to this, its because your focus is bad. You need to be able to focus for 100 seconds with no distractions minimum.

Your introspection is so bad you can't even distinguish between "Autopilot" habit and actual concentration, work on noticing things.
