Because the US is a matriarchal society, women are masters of pretending to be victims while they actually hold most of the power. Women benefit massively from criminalized prostitution and porn because this way they can monopolize access to intimacy. Just look what happened to South Korea - one of the most feminist country on the planet and now their birthrate is approaching 0.9 children per woman. Pornography is some kind of substitute relief (it's empowering to men because it makes you less dependent on a woman's body), because of this they now want to ban porn as well. Pornography functions as a pacifying medium within our society (especially in countries where prostitution is illegal), serving as an outlet for the extremely strong male instinct of having a diverse sexual life. In our current world where sexual opportunities may be limited and stigmatized ("MeToo", feminism, female shaming of older men who date younger girls etc.), pornography serves as a way of reducing the tension and agitation between the sexes. it allows men to express their sexuality without fear of judgment or consequences (which is true freedom = being free from consequences). You can laugh about "safe spaces" but porn becomes a safe space where men can experience their sexuality freely. Why it is empowering: it grants men access to sexual release that is otherwise restricted by women, so it democratizes access to sexual content. By imposing a ban or (maybe even worse) forcing people to upload their full identity to a server (which WILL be hacked and the data used for extortion by criminals) in order to access porn, is directly a contradiction to any liberal ideology.

>You do not own your computer, Bill Gates does. He decides what you can do with it, he knows everything you do on it.
Just give me two or three actual reasons why I should switch, instead of the usual schizo babble.
I tried Mint for about two hours. I stopped the first time I had to interact with "the console". It's not fucking 1990 anymore. I plan on switching to Linux but so far it's rather annoying than beneficial. My main question is - how would I (or any other user) benefit really? What's my threat assessment? My main concerns are as follows:
>some "hacktivist" tranny hacks 4chan and manages to leak all my posts along with my real name to people who know me in real life
Linux cannot protect me against this in any way.
>I unknowingly write something that activates the wrongthink department and I get jailtime and/or my whole life turned over because of a single ironic internet post
Linux cannot protect me against this in any way.

So how exactly is Linux beneficial to the average user like me? I already get the most obvious benefits, like no need for an anti virus software and the endless customization options. But so far, that's about it.
