Actually, I find Last Cave to be a real kick in the dick. It's very well-designed but even so it asks a lot of you within a very short stretch of game. You need to execute very tight movement with the Booster v2.0 when the game hasn't really required any v2.0 movement (except maybe a little bit on Balcony?).
Actually I think not even Sanctuary tests your movement to that degree except maybe in the very first room but even then that's just asking you to conserve boost. The rest of it is just throwing a ton of enemies (or blocks) at you without much strict movement. If anything, it's the final boss rush that prepares you for that.
