I'd say the Chinese are going very far, especially considering that unlike the US, they dont have any support bases on the way.
The US deployments are all from one base to another, with very rarely operating far from any overseas base.
China's navy deployments are thus much more hazardous than USN base-hoppings and put much more strain on undersea supply ships, which is why the US doesnt have undersea rearmament anymore since the end of the cold war, but China always maintained that capability.
