The greater Buenos Aires area alone makes up like a quarter of the country's entire population, so it only makes sense.
The south is empty. The north is not, but most people just stick to cheering for Boca/River and MAYBE one local team.

The only other places with a diverse football culture are Santa Fé and Córdoba, so they have a few teams with a lot of support, but that's about it.
