Maliss also can't get to Splash Mage without Banishing. Lancea completely ends Maliss's turn.

For Chimera, just start with the archetype.
You want 2 Berfomets, three of everything else in the Archetype.
So 3 Mirror Knight
3 Coactcyl
3 Gazelle
3 Chimera Fusion
I also recommend 1 copy of Sinful Spoils of Slumber. It's a Good discard for Apprentice and will reset itself if you control an illusion monster.
For the ED
run 2 of the Chimera UR
2 Berfomets fusion SR
1 of the big Chimera boss Monster SR
2 Guardian Chimera
1 Reveler the Destroyer SR
Also, 3 Nightmare Apprentice
And any Illusion Boss Monster of your Choice. Nightmare Magician is solid, mist people go for Diabelze. You can run both. I run both.
As an additional engine, the Frightfur Engine is cheap and good for beginning.
That's 2 Edge Imp Chain
2 Polymerization
3 Frightfur Patchwork
The rest, just common Hand Traps
2 Maxx C
3 Ash
2 Called by the Grave
Super Poly is also good if you can craft it, but it's UR and you need 3.
You can begin there. The deck is fairly easy to learn in this state. Just do this line here >>531258462
Pic rel is a deck list I found online, just change some cards to what I told you or what you can afford.
You won't win every duel, but the goal is to learn the game. Once you get the hang of it, you can start upgrading this deck by adding other engines, which also makes the deck more complex.
It you wanna find the secret pack for the deck, use your SR dust to craft any SR in the deck like Gazelle. I'm archetype, I think Chimera only needs like 4 UR
+ the 2 Guardian Chimera. I forget if they're in the pack or not, but they might be. Which puts you at 6 UR. Use your UR dust to craft the Hand Traps.
Also, idk if Apprentice is in the pack, but she's staple for any Illusion deck.
You'll also likely need to craft the Illusion Boss Monster, likely Diabelze.
