Before that point Dorothy was trying to answer Joyce's question as she was talking about having sex for the first time with Joe. And Dorothy was answering in earnest and at no point tried to sabotage or dissuade her to have sex with Joe. Nor was she trying to push her for it.
Also, notice that this is actually Joyce initiating the move there, not Dorothy. Thus actually further my point that it was Joyce who actually groomed Dorothy.
