Forgot to reply to this. Not sure if you meant that in a negative light or not... either way I feel obliged to defend my case, coincidentaly this same topic sort of came up a while ago on the Rika thread and I explained my reasoning there. I'll admit it's a bit of the two first things you mentioned (concept and design) since I have a massive thing for brunettes and braids, but there's a lot more to it, even though it might just be me looking into stuff too deeply. One thing I really like about "blank slate" characters like this because they leave a lot of room for interpretation and discussion with other anons. My Rika and yours could vary a lot and even add to eachother's headcanons. That happened in the last Rika thread with another anon I talked with.
