Flames over the Planned City
March 30, 2029
Time: 10:00 JST
India-Nippon forces have seized Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The assault was led mostly by Indian troops, with Nippon forces guarding the flanks and providing supporting cover.
A city of over 1 million people, Islamabad is the 10th largest city in Pakistan. It was designed and built as a planned-city and replaced Karachi as the capital in the 1960s. Indian artillery shelling unfortunately damaged the Faisal Mosque, which is the 6th largest mosque in the world.
Having beaten Pakistan a few years prior in the 2023-2024 Kashmir Conflict, the Indian military has seen a renaissance. Nippon military advisers have overseen the growth and strength of India's armed forces since the previous war. Her air force contains numerous Nippon-manufactured fighter jets, and many units use standardized PDTO ammunition and small arms.
India once again is vindicated as the military might of the subcontinent. Pakistani forces still continue fighting, however, and it may take some months before the country capitulates. But this is an important first step in the war.
