>What made you start liking Rainbow in the first place?
I don't know. She caught my eye from the very start, and through that act she caught my heart; love she planted in my dirty soul, and time the water brought it blooming full.

>What do you like/love the most about her?
I like her passion and her grace, and how she secretly intensely cares about other ponies. Her secret shyness and insecurity also makes her very relatable, if I'm being honest.

>What draws you to her personality?
As above. There's an innocent honesty and a graceful lack of contrivance to her character that I just love.

>How much of the show do you base your version of her on?
Although I watched the whole show as it came out, I was pretty checked out during and after s3. >>42228786 hits the nail on the head.

>Overall, how well do you think she was portrayed/written in the show?
Early on, Faust definitely ensured she stayed true to her (slightly angsty) archetype. That's what made her lovable. I agree with the other guy again that a lot of her later 'development' wasn't really right for her. It would have been better for her if she pivoted into something more personal and expressive. And of course all of the m6 get seriously battered by writers going for cheap conflict.
note: Faust even hints at this in the show bible:
>It would seem that her raw talent and skill would instantly earn her a spot on [The Wonderbolts], but her greatest obstacle is a complete and total lack of discipline. Perhaps our little adventurer can overcome this character flaw someday and achieve her dream, or pehaps fate has something more in store for her...

>What episodes do you consider to be the most definitive/representative of her personality?
Sonic Rainboom, of course. I think, for Dash, MMDW is an underrated one - while it totally distorts her compassionate impulse, it does also give us one of the only glimpses into the introverted, scared, secretive side of her personality that the later showrunners completely missed, pic rel. I think it's really key to understanding her character, and taking that boisterous outer mask as her full personality is basically totally flipping her character 180 degrees.

>What episodes, if any, do you dislike the most, and why?
Same ones as anybody else will tell you, pretty sure all of her episodes s7 and onwards were garbage but I don't care to remember.

>Finally, and only if you feel comfortable answering, how similar would you consider your own personality to Rainbow's?
Complex answer really. I empathize in some ways, we especially have our independent and undisciplined streak in common; but outwardly I think people would say we're practically opposites. Inwardly I think we're more alike than the show suggests.
