Twilight doesn't have anger management issues, so it's not hard for her to master it. The story doesn't spend much time on it, anyway. If you're just mad that it doesn't come up again, it does: the firey unicorn apprentice that she takes on has anger management issues that affect his magic, and she uses what she learned about anger to train him. That's a school she learns not to use herself but to help other ponies with, as the Archmage.
I didn't ignore your comment about nature magic, either. The comment I linked discusses it, you can go read that. In short, she failed to learn the lesson and it promptly impacted her ability to perform the role of the Archmage in the story. There's more layers to the blending than "here's a training setup, here's her using the training payoff"
