TP is a game of setpiece moments and you either accept that or you don't. It's not particularly Zelda-like in design, but also it's VERY good at crafting these moments. I mean, you get to sumo wrestle Gorons and have a western showdown in a dilapidated village, shit's great with the thematic framing.
