I have never trusted my life more to any firearm more than my m9. It is the most accurate pistol I've owned by far, easy enough to carry, feeds more reliably than a cow, eats cheap 9mm budget ammo like a pig eats slop, and doesn't give a shit if it's dirty or clean, as long as it has some oil. I'd sooner grab this gun than my shotgun or ak for home defense, that's how deeply I trust it. It's also far more maneuverable. Recoil is comically insignificant and I would trust this with 2 mags to get me out of any situation possible, though I don't carry a spare mag (except in the truck) because it's already such a capable piece without one.

I'm wholly convinced that no better firearm exists for the common man than the M9, at least not when it comes to personal protection.
