Yeah, there are hacks for the Pokemon games for that as well. Though it feels a little too jarring to see an original Gameboy game and hear CD quality music coming out of it.

Some of the hacks do more than just add MSU-1 support. For example, Contra III has a normal MSU-1 patch, one that also combines with the restoration patch, and one that also combines that with a SA-1 hack which reduces slowdowns, loadtimes, and adds saving of high-scores and options. Some of the MSU-1 hacks are just simply replacing the game audio with PCM, others also add other enhancements and do more than just replace the audio. There are a few "Deluxe" ones that on top of adding PCM audio increase the number of tracks in the game (The Super Mario World one for example can give each level it's own track rather than having a handful that are re-used for most levels like in the original game)
