Nintendo is one of, if not the number one, most desired place to work in Japan. They do not engage in mass layoffs, they give good benefits, they foster a welcoming and inclusive workspace, and most of all, they don't engage in crunch or abuse industry cheats like generative AI that piss off creatives, programmers, and anyone who wants to make video game hardware or software. Thy have an extremely tenured staff that stay for long periods of time. Many people who worked on Tears of the Kingdom have been making Zelda games since the NES days.
"Gamers" hate them because they don't give a fuck about Smash tournaments, copyright troll, and other dumb shit ultimately nobody outside of niche losers care about, and thus to them they're worse than EA or Ubisoft. The concept of fostering a welcoming workplace doesn't matter to them, because people who make video games are subhuman and exist solely to deliver their slop to their door, then they can die.
