Part of the reason I got the Sonic sets was to combine them with hypothetical future Mario minifig sets. If the "Nintendo doesn't want Mario to hold a lightsaber" speculation is true for why they want him to stand out from the traditional sets, that is depressingly ironic that both Nintendo and Lego are missing the point of the movie.
