God is evil by His own standards. I don't know how I ever took seriously the idea that this world was created by a good creator. Christians and other religious folk just handwave it away with mocking sentiments like:

It's not something to be lightly dismissed. God's treatment of His most loyal, Job, and of Japhtheh as seen here feels deeply immoral.
