We were gods once. The internet was our domain and everyone else could only bitch and seethe. It was a glorious golden equine age. Now we are cast from our thrones and treated like vermin. Though perhaps even that sentiment comes from a position of privilege? We enjoyed an omnipresence and potency that most fandoms can never claim, and now that we are reduced to the relative obscurity that is typical for a fandom, it feels like death.
