I have been a Magic customer for 20 years now and I appreciate Final Fantasy as a set. It had some very enjoyable ideas for the game.
Of course, I share your distaste for Spider-Man, Avatar, and likely whatever else they're going to stir in.
Final Fantasy is just an appropriate and enjoyable exception that happens to be placed first in the queue.
